K-5 Curriculum
- Our elementary schools provide a curriculum and instructional practices that are both age and individually appropriate for young children. A focus is on recognizing both the academic, social, and emotional needs of our students.
- Balance of whole group, small group, and individual instruction to meet the learning needs of students
- Special subjects including art, music, physical education, and computers
- Academic support provided through literacy and math interventionist and special services
- Young Fives program providing students with early kindergarten birthdays a full year of preparation which sets the stage for success in kindergarten
- Standardsibased report cards describing what a student should know and be able to do at each grade level in all core subjects
- Enrichment opportunities, such as field trips, assemblies, fifth grade science camp, and after school programs
- School-wide Positive Behavior and Intervention Supports (PBIS) to reinforce and recognize positive behavior
- Special school-wide events, including Black Out Bullying Week, March is Reading Month, Holiday Concert, and Field Day
- Active PTO sponsoring events, such as field trips, Book Bingo, spring carnival, and book fairs
- Strong parent and school partnership through volunteering and attendance at conferences, classroom, and school events
